"CBD for Anxiety Disorders"

Anxiety is a condition characterized by restlessness and excessive worry.  It is often accompanied by muscular tension, restlessness, fatigue and problems in concentration. From social anxiety and panic disorder to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and agoraphobia, anxiety comes in many ‘shapes and sizes.

Is among the most common emotional and behavioral problems and a report released by the World Health Organization found that nearly 264 million people are living with anxiety worldwide.

But regardless of the type of anxiety you might be dealing with, a dose of cannabidiol maybe can help you cope with the unpleasant symptoms associated with this condition.

-Studies about CBD and Anxiety

-In a study from the 'New York University School of Medicine' and the 'Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante', the researchers mention the anxiolytic role of CBD and that CBD has considerable potential as a treatment for multiple anxiety disorders.

They concluded that "Preclinical evidence conclusively demonstrates CBD’s efficacy in reducing anxiety behaviors relevant to multiple disorders, including PTSD, GAD, PD, OCD, and SAD, with a notable lack of anxiogenic effects. CBD’s anxiolytic actions appear to depend upon CB1Rs and 5-HT1ARs in several brain regions, however, investigation of additional receptor actions may reveal further mechanisms. Human experimental findings support preclinical findings, and also suggest a lack of anxiogenic effects, minimal sedative effects, and an excellent safety profile".

-Another study from the University of Colorado, the Wholeness Center, the North Range Behavioral Health, and the University College of Health and Human Sciences, researchers determine whether CBD helps improve sleep and/or anxiety in a clinical population.

They concluded that  "Anxiety scores decreased within the first month in 57 patients (79.2%) and remained decreased during the study duration. Sleep scores improved within the first month in 48 patients (66.7%) but fluctuated over time. CBD was well tolerated in all but 3 patients".

-In another study from the University of São Paulo, the University of Rio de Janeiro in 2 Hospital Clínics, researchers compare the effects of a simulation public speaking test (SPST) on 12 healthy control (HC) patients and on 12 Social Anxiety Disorde (SAD) patients. All 24 patients with Social Anxiety Disorder perform a speech publically.

They found that the CBD group significantly reduced anxiety, cognitive impairment and discomfort in their speech performance, and significantly decreased alert in their anticipatory speech. The placebo group presented higher anxiety, cognitive impairment and discomfort.

-Also in a study the researchers investigate the effects of CBD on human pathological anxiety and its underlying brain mechanisms in patients with generalized social anxiety disorder (SAD) using functional neuroimaging.
They concluded that "the results suggest that CBD reduces anxiety in SAD and that this is related to its effects on activity in limbic and paralimbic brain areas".

-Conclusion

Its almost clear that all those evidence from human studies of patients with and without anxiety disorders are starting to validate CBD’s efficacy as an anti-anxiety treatment. CBD has the potential to play a significant role in treating a myriad of anxiety-related disorders so If you’re experiencing symptoms like frequent restlessness, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, fatigue, lack of control over feelings of worry, and sleep problems, it’s crucial to speak with your doctor or with your health consultant and to start thinking the using CBD oil to help manage your anxiety problems
