"CBD & Asthma"

Asthma is a condition in which your airways narrow and swell and produce extra mucus. This can make breathing difficult and trigger coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath.
For some people, it can be a major problem that interferes with daily activities and may lead to a life-threatening asthma attack.

Asthma can't be cured, but its symptoms can be controlled. Because asthma often changes over time, it's important that you work with your doctor to track your signs and symptoms and adjust treatment as needed so lets see how can CBD help with asthma

-4 Studies About CBD & Asthma

-Ιn 2015 the Department of Neurosciences of the University of São Paulo and the Laboratory of Experimental Physiopathology they studied the role of CBD Treatment in Animal Model of Asthma.

Researchers found that the treatment with CBD in a model of acute lung injury induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) decreased total lung resistance and elastance and improved several markers of inflammation. The protective effects of CBD upon lung inflammation were demonstrated in several different models.

"Actually this is the first evidence of a beneficial effect of CBD in an animal model of asthma. In addition, cytokines and all the results are consistent with the significant anti-inflammatory effect of CBD. We demonstrate that the administration of CBD in an animal model of asthma could blunt the serum cytokine response in sensitized animals".

(Cytokines are a category of small proteins that are important in cell signaling wich  is part of any communication process that governs basic activities of cells and coordinates all cell actions).

"The effects suggest a potential for a new asthma treatment. CBD controls the exaggerated inflammatory response observed in this model."

-Another research published in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics showed that the compine of THC,CBD and THCV protects the lungs. The research was done on guinea pigs, and all cannabinoids were thoroughly examined.

As a result, it was discovered that the cannabinoid THC and THC-V were the only ones to deal with bronchoconstriction and all the other cannabinoids were without effect.

The researchers notice that "evidence suggests that synergy exists between the activities of different cannabinoids, encompassing a potentiation or antagonism of the beneficial or adverse effects of one phytocannabinoid by another.
For example, despite having negligible affinity, CBD antagonizes cannabinoid receptors to modulate THC associated adverse events such as anxiety, tachycardia, hunger, and sedation in rats and humans"

-In a 2019 study researchers concluded that "CBD treatment, regardless of dosage, decreased airway hyperresponsiveness, whereas static lung elastance only reduced with high dose. These outcomes were accompanied by decreases in collagen fibre content in both airway and alveolar septa and the expression of markers associated with inflammation in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and lung homogenate".

"There was a significant and inverse correlation between CB1 levels and lung function in asthmatic patients. CBD treatment decreased the inflammatory and remodelling processes in the model of allergic asthma".

-Also in a review to the databases of MEDLINE/PubMed (NLM), Scopus (Elsevier) and Science Citation Index Expanded (Web of Science) 19 articles suggested that cannabis, quaintly, may have bronchodilatory properties, which means it could help make breathing easier for people with asthma.
But this review also clearly shows that chronic marijuana smoking is associated with respiratory symptoms and an increase in FVC.

-Conclusion

CBD oil can benefit asthma patients in numerous ways. A daily dosing of CBD is required to get a baseline medication in the human system to control asthma more easily. Asthma patients can use CBD to improve their overall functions of the body, more importantly, their lungs.
As studies reveal that CBD can be a controlling factor of asthma and that the compine of THC,CBD and THCV protects the lungs, many patients all over the world use CBD to manage their effects of asthma. But its important to take the advise of your doctor or your health consultant..
