"Medical Cannabis Treatment in Autism: Analysis of Safety and Efficacy"

"Medical Cannabis Treatment in Autism: Analysis of Safety and Efficacy" mycannashop
There has been a dramatic increase in the number of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) worldwide.

Recently anecdotal evidence of possible therapeutic effects of cannabis products has emerged.

The aim of this study is to characterize the epidemiology of ASD patients receiving medical cannabis treatment and to describe its safety and efficacy.

Researchers analyse the data prospectively collected as part of the treatment program of 188 ASD patients treated with medical cannabis between 2015 and 2017. The treatment in majority of the patients was based on cannabis oil containing 30% CBD and 1.5% THC.

The Study...

During the study period, 188 ASD patients initiated the treatment. Diagnosis of ASD was established in accordance with the accepted practice in Israel. 6 board certified paediatric psychiatrists and neurologists were responsible for treatment of 125 patients (80.6%), the remaining 30 children were referred by 22 other physicians.

"First Evidence of Immune Response Targeting Brain Cells in Autism"

Cannabis & Autism. Mycannashop
What would you think if someone told you that if you boosted your immune system you could even prevent Autism Disorders???

Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by difficulties with social interaction, communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior.

Is associated with a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Risk factors during pregnancy include certain infections, such as rubella, toxins including valproic acid, alcohol, cocainepesticideslead, and air pollutionfetal growth restriction, and autoimmune diseases.

Back in 2012 the first step was done in a mouse model study that tied the autism-related behaviors with immune changes. Several large epidemiological studies have found a correlation between viral infection during the first trimester of a mother's pregnancy and a higher risk for autism spectrum disorder in her child.

But this time researchers examine hummans brains and found that autism spectrum disorder could be an autoimmune disease.
"We haven't proved causality, but this is one clue in support of the idea that Autism might be an Autoimmune Disorder"...

Investigators typically aim potential treatments at specific pathologies in brain diseases, such as the tangles and plaques that characterize Alzheimer’s disease and the Lewy bodies seen in Parkinson’s. Researchers states that: "Until now, we didn't had a promising target like that in autism"

Israeli Researchers Discover How And Why Autism Responds Well To Cannabis

Israeli scientists have discovered the reason why kids with autism
respond so well to cannabis medications.
It’s because they have lower endogenous cannabinoid levels compared to matched controls.

The study, which was published in the medical journal Molecular Autism, involved analyzing the endocannabinoid serum rates among 93 patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and compared them to controls. The researchers found that the children with ASD have “substantially lower” serum levels of anandamide, a primary endocannabinoid, as well as other compounds.
Israeli scientists have long been in the forefront of autism research, as well as other medical applications of cannabis. This has been a great help to the scientific community at large, who have found it challenging to gain a better understanding of autism among children. This condition spares no one, yet every autistic child is affected in a different way. For this reason, finding standard treatment options has been close to impossible. But cannabis is proving promising for autism.

"Autistic Boy Gains Ability to Speak After Just 2 Days of Cannabis Oil Treatment"!!!

Though Kalel Santiago of Puerto Rico is only 9 years old, he’s already endured some adult-level struggles. At just 10 months, he was diagnosed with the rare childhood cancer neuroblastoma, and spent more than two years undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. Then came the next diagnosis: severe, non-verbal autism.

“While he was in the hospital, we noticed he didn’t speak at all and had some behavior that wasn’t right, like hand flapping, and walking on his toes,” his father, Abiel Gomez Santiago, tells Yahoo Parenting from the family’s home in Aguada. “But we waited until he was 3 and cancer-free to look at his behavior.”
He and his wife Gladys — also parents to two older boys, now 18 and 20 — did a cram course in educating themselves on autism. They tried various schools and therapies, and eventually found impressive success with a unique surf-therapy school near their home. Then, through an April fundraising event for that program, the Santiagos happened upon a treatment that would quickly change their lives: hemp oil, rich in the compound cannabidiol (CBD), which has been shown, at least anecdotally, to dramatically ease symptoms of both epilepsy and autism.
They took home the tiny sample bottle of spray and began giving their son twice daily doses, as directed on the label, right into his mouth. And the results, they say, were startling:
Kalel started talking — in just two days. Abiel says. “I don’t know how to thank the CBD oil makers.”
