"Should You Use Cannabis to Prevent Illnesses"???

Did you know that we could target in the ECS to prevent illness and maintain better health?
Our bodies consist of many unique physiologic systems whose sole purpose is to maintain an internal balance called homeostasis.

We know the pancreas releases insulin to balance glucose levels between the bloodstream and cells. The thyroid gland releases thyroid hormone, which regulates vital bodily functions related to metabolism, body temperature and much more. Acctually our bodies are working constantly to stay balanced in response to our external environment.

The "Endocannabinoid System" (ECS)...

In the quest to understand how THC causes its intoxicating effects, scientists discovered that we have yet another regulatory physiologic system, called "Endocannabinoid System" (ECS) whose role is to maintain bodily homeostasis & biological harmony. Acctualy the ECS  is the most widespread receptor system in the human body and has been described as being protective and necessary for life.

"End Our Pain” campaign... 18 mothers plan to go on hunger strike for sons cannabis treatment"

Unbelievably, a Scottish mother and 17 other mothers in similar situations plan to go on a hunger strike in an effort to pressure the government into providing funding for the medicine their children need!

Murray Gray has a rare form of epilepsy called Doose syndrome that requires a treatment of Bedrolite and Bedrocan.

{Bedrolite is the brand name for the cultivar Cannabis sativa L. ‘Rensina’, is a so-called CBD-only product, with less than 1% THC and 9% CBD and has become the preferred choice of a number of patients with severe, intractable (untreatable) forms of epilepsy.
Bedrocan is the brand name for the cultivarCannabis sativa L. ‘Afina’ wich is the first cultivar developed and it features 22% THC, with a CBD-level below 1%. ... Guess what...both prodused by Bedrocan}

Those drugs was prescribed by a Dutch doctor in March but at a cost of £1,200 a month, his mother, Karen Gray has had to rely on fund raising efforts such as a recent sponsored walk across the Forth Road Bridge and an upcoming Race Night planned for November

"Study From Yale Explains Why Does Cannabis Stimulate Your Appetite"

Cannabis and Appetite
Have you ever think, why do some cannabis consumers experience a heightened sense of appetite after the using of Cannabis???

Don't worry if you don't because a study from 'Yale School of Medicine'  has come up with a scientific answer exactly for this question...

The study was funded also by the National Institutes of Health, the American Diabetes Association, The Klarmann Family Foundation, the Helmholtz Society (ICEMED) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft SFB.

The study...

The “munchies,” or that uncontrollable urge to eat after using marijuana, appear to be driven by neurons in the brain that are normally involved in suppressing appetite, according to the study.
Lead author Tamas Horvath and his colleagues set out to monitor the brain circuitry that promotes eating by selectively manipulating the cellular pathway that mediates marijuana’s action on the brain, using transgenic mice.
“By observing how the appetite center of the brain responds to marijuana, we were able to see what drives the hunger brought about by cannabis and how that same mechanism that normally turns off feeding becomes a driver of eating,” said Horvath.

Israeli Researchers Discover How And Why Autism Responds Well To Cannabis

Israeli scientists have discovered the reason why kids with autism
respond so well to cannabis medications.
It’s because they have lower endogenous cannabinoid levels compared to matched controls.

The study, which was published in the medical journal Molecular Autism, involved analyzing the endocannabinoid serum rates among 93 patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and compared them to controls. The researchers found that the children with ASD have “substantially lower” serum levels of anandamide, a primary endocannabinoid, as well as other compounds.
Israeli scientists have long been in the forefront of autism research, as well as other medical applications of cannabis. This has been a great help to the scientific community at large, who have found it challenging to gain a better understanding of autism among children. This condition spares no one, yet every autistic child is affected in a different way. For this reason, finding standard treatment options has been close to impossible. But cannabis is proving promising for autism.

"ECH announces plans to open first UK medical cannabis clinics"

European Cannabis Holdings (ECH) has announced plans to open The Medical Cannabis Clinics in a step toward aiding patients living with a range of chronic conditions

The clinics, which will open this spring, will be the first in the UK to offer cannabis-based therapy and prescription cannabiniods to patients suffering from chronic pain conditions including arthritis, fibromyalgia, nerve conditions, muscle cramps (spasticity); treating neurological conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease; and addressing psychiatric problems such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The first clinic will open at The Beeches Consulting Centre in Manchester in March and will be led by Dr David McDowell, a Consultant in Pain Management who issued the first prescription for medical cannabis in December.

Clinics will then open in London across multiple disciplines including neurology and psychiatry in addition to chronic pain, on Harley Street, and in Birmingham later this spring.

“Thanks To Cannabis Ava Is Pharma-Free.”

Vera Twomey is the mother of Ava, a little girl who developed Dravet’s Syndrome at four months old. For the first seven years of her life, Ava suffered up to 400 seizures a month until 2016 when Vera turned to cannabis for help. That decision changed their lives. Today, Ava is “pharma-free.”

-Ava’s Story: A Sick Child Saved by Cannabis

Nine years ago, Ava Barry was born a happy healthy baby girl, but at around four months she began to have seizures. Her terrified parents immediately brought her to their local hospital in Cork, south of Ireland, where the doctors began the process of trying to figure out what was wrong while simultaneously prescribing a mix of liquid medications to control the seizures, which could last up to 45 minutes.

"CBD reduces impairment caused by cannabis"

The more cannabidiol (CBD) in a strain of cannabis, the lower the impairment to brain function, finds a new led brain imaging study from University College London.

The research, published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology, is the first study using fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) to gauge how different strains of cannabis impact brain function. The study involved researchers at UCL, Invicro, King’s College London, Imperial College London, and the University of Bath and was supported by Drug Science, Channel 4 Television, and the Beckley Foundation.
"Over the last two decades, rates of addiction and psychosis linked to cannabis have been on the rise, while at the same time stronger strains of cannabis with more THC and less CBD have become increasingly common," said the study's lead author, Dr. Matt Wall (UCL Clinical Psychopharmacology Unit and Invicro).
"We have now found that CBD appears to buffer the user against some of the acute effects of THC on the brain."

"Israeli Researchers Probe How Cannabis Can Treat Endometriosis"

Israeli researchers have started pre-clinical studies to examine the impact of medical cannabis in the treatment of endometriosis, a medical problem that affects one in 10 women of childbearing age.
The research is led by Gynica, which is licensed by the Health Ministry to develop cannabis-based products for women, in cooperation with Lumir Lab, a cannabis research facility in the Biotechnology Park, Hadassah Ein Karem, Jerusalem.
Endometriosis affects some 176 million women worldwide. In affected women, uterine lining grows outside the uterus, in the fallopian tubes, ovaries and other areas of the abdominal cavity and in the pelvis. These women suffer from severe pain before and during menstruation, bleeding and pain during and after intercourse, dyspepsia and frequent or painful urination.
Anecdotal evidence has shown that women who smoke cannabis find relief from their pain, said Dr. Sari Sagiv, VP of research and development at Gynica. The researchers set out to find out what compounds or combination of compounds of cannabis can potentially address the problem.

"Beyond the CB1 & CB2... The Therapeutic Promise of TRPV1 & GPR55 Receptors"

If you’re familiar with cannabis science, you know about CB1 and CB2, the receptors located throughout the body that are triggered by cannabinoids like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).
It’s via these receptors that THC and CBD are able to bring about some of the therapeutic effects that cannabis is known for.

While CB1 and CB2 get the most attention—likely because we know the most about them—there are other receptors in the body that also respond to cannabinoids, like TRPV1 and GPR55. These receptors are influenced by THC and CBD, as well as anandamide and 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), endocannabinoids made by our bodies.

"Research on the TRPV1 and GPR55 receptors shows cannabinoids may hold promise in treating cancer and Dravet syndrome".

We’re beginning to gain a better understanding of TRPV1 and GPR55. Both hold much therapeutic promise, and CBD may be one of the ways to unlock this potential.

"A BRAVE YOUNG GIRL WITH A UNIQUE & INSPIRING PATH THROUGH CHILDHOOD LEUKEMIA"

"Some may say that cannabis does not “cure” cancer…

I am not saying the steroids and chemo didn’t help…
but all this right here shows something…
proof enough for me!

Some say cannabis is inappropriate for children…
We say cancer is inappropriate for children..."

This is the story of a little girl Mykayla that on July14th 2012, diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)

Leukemia is cancer of the blood and bone marrow.
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is a very rare and aggressive form of childhood leukemia, it accounts for 15-18% of childhood leukemia cases.

-In a healthy child, the bone marrow makes blood stem cells (immature cells) that become mature blood cells over time. A blood stem cell may become a myeloid stem cell or a lymphoid stem cell.

-In a child with ALL, too many stem cells become lymphoblasts, B lymphocytes, or T lymphocytes. The cells do not work like normal lymphocytes and are not able to fight infection very well. These cells are cancer leukemia cells.

"The Antiemetic effect of THC in patients receiving cancer chemotherapy"

Anecdotal accounts suggested that smoking marihuana decreases the nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapeutic agents.

In a study published in 16 Oct 1975 from 'The New England Journal of Medicine', oral THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) was compared with placebo in a controlled, randomized, "double-blind" experiment.

All patients were receiving chemotherapeutic drugs known to cause nausea and vomiting of central origin. Each patient was to serve as his own control to determine whether tetrahydrocannabinol had an antiemetic effect. Twenty-two patients entered the study, 20 of whom were evaluable. For all patients an antiemetic effect was observed in 14 of 20 tetrahydrocannabinol courses and in none of 22 placebo courses.

For patients completing the study, response occurred in 12 of 15 courses of tetrahydrocannabinol and in none of 14 courses of placebo. No patient vomited while experiencing a subjective "high."

Oral tetrahydrocannabinol has antiemetic properties and is significantly better than a placebo in reducing vomiting caused by chemotherapeutic agents.

"Just realize that this study is from 1975... but still we searching for evidence"

"Can Medical Marijuana Help Transplant Patients"???

Certain conditions can result in the need for the patient to receive an organ transplant. When you need a transplant, you have to consider your eligibility, existing health issues, and recovery. Since some doctors consider medical marijuana a controversial topic, how does your patient status impact your experience? We can help you understand what to expect as a transplant patient who takes cannabis medicine.

Is Medical Marijuana Safe for Transplant Patients?

When you have an organ transplant, your doctor will give you immunosuppressants. As their name implies, these drugs suppress your immune system to increase your body’s chance of accepting the new organ. Your immune system attacks foreign objects, including organs that don’t belong to your body. If you have regular immune function, it will damage your new organ’s tissue. The immunosuppressants block its ability to attack the new organ so you can keep it in your body.
